Photographic Tips - Eliminating Red Eye

How can I eliminate red eye from my pictures?

"Red eye", which occurs in flash picture-taking, is actually the reflection of the flash off of the retina. Red eye seems to be more evident when the subject has light-coloured eyes. To reduce red eye, try one of the following: :

·  Increase the room's lighting by turning on more lights.

·
Have your subject look at a bright light, such as a room lamp, just before you take the flash picture.

·  Use a camera that has a red eye reduction feature. These methods should cause the subject's pupils to contract, thereby reducing the amount of reflective surface.
